Jonathan D. Gordon, Esq. is a family law attorney, admitted into practice in New Jersey (1998) and New York
(1999). He received his law degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1998 and has been practicing in Family Court for over 11 years, first as a NJ Deputy Attorney General, representing DYFS. He is also a licensed Psychologist in NJ (#SIO1358) and NY (#5614). Prior to becoming an attorney, he practiced as a clinical psychologist for over twenty years. He maintains his Psychology license and occasionally performs forensic child custody and parenting time evaluations for the courts as well as counseling individuals and couples with family and marital issues. He is a court approved family law mediator and parent coordinator. He has a special interest in difficult child custody and visitation disputes, domestic violence and DYFS issues. He has served for many years as a Hudson County Matrimonial Early Settlement Program panelist. He was an honoree at a recent Project S.A.R.A.H. function for his work with victims of domestic violence.
When not at work, Jonathan enjoys yoga, guitar, movies, travel, scuba diving and hanging out with his grandchildren.
Jennifer M. Cornelius, Esq. was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1999 and is also admitted to the Bar in New
York. After graduating from the Washington College of Law at American University in Washington, D.C., she clerked for the Hon. Maureen P. Sogluizzo, J.S.C. in Hudson County Family Court from 1998 to 1999. Ms. Cornelius has primarily practiced family law since that time, although she handled a wide range of practice areas while at Bielan, Miklos, Morris & Marley in Bayonne before coming to Bergen County in 2004 to work with John Finnerty, Esq. She participated in the Hudson County Inn of Court from 2001-2004 and the (now) Barry Croland Family Inn of Court for the 2005-2006 year. Ms. Cornelius has served as a Hudson County Matrimonial Early Settlement Panelist for many years. She is also frequently appointed by the Chancery Court in Bergen as counsel in Guardianship cases. Ms. Cornelius joined the Law Offices of Jonathan D. Gordon, Esq., LLC in July, 2008 where she continues working primarily in the areas of divorce, custody, parenting time disputes, alimony, child support, domestic violence and guardianships, among other matters related to family law.
